MY FIRST MONTH IN BCS.

       I’m going to tell you all about my past month. This past month has went by crazy fast! As I was packing up at home, getting ready to be on my own it finally hit me. I’m going to miss home more than I thought. As move in day got closer and closer my emotions were everywhere. My moms crying my dads crying and next thing you know I’m crying! They were filled with tears of joy and sadness but yet so proud of me. Their ONLY BABYGIRL was actually leaving the house. I still have trouble believing I packed up and moved to College Station on my own. One huge thing I had to realize I wasn’t going to see my parents EVERYDAY! I know their just a phone call away so since I had to adjust to many new things this as well. Hearing them through the phone is not the same as their hugs.

     I’ve had to adjust to many new things. My new schedule for school and work, new people new home. Settling into Bryan/College Station wasn’t so bad for me. I actually like living on my own. I’ve met so many people while being here for just a short month. I have many of my new friends in many of my classes! The three girls I wouldn’t trade meeting for the world are Autumn, Gabbi and Kyndall Ray. I have Kyndall in majority of my classes which is GREAT! Autumn is in my music class which makes that one class more fun. The day me and Autumn met the day I knew she was going to be a life long friend. Now Gabbi I have her in two classes. These three girls I wouldn’t trade meeting for the world. My classes wouldn’t be as fun if I didn’t have them. I’m glad I have met new people but some classmates from my old school are here as well especially my best friend hunter since the ninth grade.

   My classes are all pretty easy going for the most part. Work after work but that’s what college is for. I Have many classes I like actually just one in particular I struggle in which is MATH. I’ve struggled in Math since I was a freshman in High School. I never really worked on it so much until now! I have a Education class and Mrs. Marianne has taught me a lot about studying with her behavior modification project. I have actually  started doing better in math more understanding and more studying! Crazy I’m already a month into school and just took my first exam in READ. I felt pretty prepared but my test anxiety always gets the best of me. It wasn’t as bad as I thought. My first short answer/ essay test in his class I knew what standard was expected already. I’ve done so many essays and short answers I could do them in my sleep.  I love school and if I didn’t my response would probably be a whole lot different and more negative. That’s not me though Life to me is SIMPLE just like my classes accept math but I’m getting to like it so that’s great! When you see progress in yourself it’s a great feeling.

WHO I AM AND WHERE IM FROM.

       To start this blog off my name is Chelsey Hirsch. I came from a big city. Nashville Tennessee some of you may or may not know. Nashville is a music city. Always concerts, festivals, meet and greets etc. if you can’t find something to do in Nashville your crazy! What you need to know about Nashville. Nashville was founded on Christmas Eve in 1779! That is so cool no wonder why it’s so jolly all year round. There’s also this huge AT&T tower downtown. Literally called the “BATMAN BUILDING”. It’s just like his mask really tall pointy ears sticking straight up in the sky.

       I have many important people and animals  in my life? My mom, dad, brother , niece , nephew my best friend and boyfriend. Of courses my two babies! Daisy Mae and Penni. I got Daisy Mae with my brother when I was 10. When I was 14 I moved to Texas and Daisy was along the whole car ride here. She even had her puppies the night before us leaving that next morning in my old house. Which was really cool. Traveling with some pups and Da isy. Penni my other weenie dog I got her almost a year ago from my nanny. Penni is a school pup. Half of school she was with me in the ag shop with my favorite teacher Mr. Accord. If something ever happens to my baby’s it will be very hard, saddening to get over. Not just me but my whole family especially with my dad. Penni is with me and my dad most of the time. They’ve been with me through a lot. I’m fixing to move onto my goals you all have heard enough about my pups. Now let me get to the most important people in my life! My dad I’ve been at his hip since I was a baby. Most people are either  a “mommy” or “daddy’s” girl but I’m actually both. My mom and dad I’ve been at both of their side honestly but my dad a little more. I love both of my parents deeply. If anything happens to them I’ve always said I’m going with them since  I was about seven or eight and it hasn’t changed. I can’t bear to live on this place we call eart. They have taught me everything I know life lessons and I’ve learned many on my own from their raising on me. They help me through everything and anything any way they can. No matter what they’ve never left my side, so I can’t leave theirs it would be unbearable on this place we call earth without them. Now let’s talk about my brother. Me and my brother clay are 4 years apart. We have always been close growing up. I can tell you he has made me tough as nails. Every brother and sister fight right? In school I use to see my brother until his graduation came. He graduated in Tennessee with the White House Blue Devils, I should have as well. After clays graduation we moved and he moved out a year later. Now he has my beautiful niece and nephew. On July twenty eighth Jaxxon Hirsch arrived. Then again Amaryillis Hirsch arrived on Friday the Thirteenth at 3:13 in afternoon. My niece and nephews are my babies! It’s like having my own and we could pull it off, as they were like my kids we all look that much a like!

        My goals for Blinn and beyond?  I’m going to school to be a pediatric nurse. I love working with kids or just helping people in general. For a long time I wanted to be a counselor or a writer I couldn’t decide. All of that changed my senior year. I started doing research on nursing. My mom’s clients helped me a lot. Also my mom knowing so many people has helped me as well. If my mom didn’t know many professors or nurses I wouldn’t know the first clue in what to do to get in the nursing class. I’m going to do the nursing program at Blinn. Also work at a hospital then let whoever I work for pay me to go back to school to become a RN. What I’m good at doing as you can see is writing. Some of my hobbies are eating, hanging out with friends. What’s something that would totally surprise you about me I never missed a day of high school all Four years. I got two scholarships for doing that it was amazing. Hope at the end of reading this you know more about me.

David Brooks wins success.

      David Brooks is more successful in delivering his thesis statement. What makes Brooks text so successful you may ask? Brooks is BIAS with every opinion that is given. To us, him, them, me, whoever! Most of Brooks articles consist of opinionated language. Look for positive or negative descriptions. "Depends on the person!" David Brook's article consist mainly the way the internet affects OUR intelligence, both positive or negative.

      The three main things I want to talk about with David Brooks text that make him so successful. For example: "Crystallized Intelligence is the ability to use experience, Knowledge and the products of life long education that has been stoned in long-term memory." David wants people to nurture crystallized Intelligence rather than fluid Intelligence. Long-term memory and crystallized Intelligence differ over the years leading to understanding and wisdom! Keep in mind this example, very positive. Now lets look at the negative.

      Another example:" Its like you're circulating within an infinite throng, with instant access to people you'd almost never meet in real life." Which what's opposite of this? People online feel more in control! Its crazy but if people really think about this, their carefree. Take yourself away when on the internet "BOREDOM LURKING!!!!" I'm going to end this discussion with positive connotation and a positive example. Last example: " Being online is like being a part of the greatest cocktail party ever and it is going on all the time." The positivity depends agree to disagree. This last example determines what we really needed to focus on, by that I mean get out of this. Hope all three of these text, examples show EVERYONE what makes David Brook's so successful!
